Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Pebbles processes, why, and what rights you have. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Visiting the website

When you open Pebbles, our hosting provider (Vercel Inc., USA, with server functions in Frankfurt, Germany) processes technical data such as your IP address, the time of the request and your browser, so the site can be delivered and protected against abuse. These logs are kept only as long as needed for that purpose.

Pebbles uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers. Fonts, logos and icons are served from our own server, so opening the site doesn't send your data to font or icon providers.

Searching

When you search, the text you type is sent from our server to OpenRouter, Inc. (USA), which runs the Jev model that ranks the apps. OpenRouter receives only the search text from our server, not your IP address or any identifier. Please don't type personal information into the search. We don't store your searches. If you share a search, the search text becomes part of the link.

Submitting an app

When you submit an app, we process:

• the link, and the description if you give one
• your email address
• whether you are the owner or maker
• the time of submission and which version of our rules you accepted

We use this only to review the submission and to contact you about it. Your email is never published or shared for marketing. Submissions are stored in a database run by Neon (USA) in its Frankfurt, Germany data centre, which only we can access. To sort the review queue, the link, description and owner answer (not your email) are sent to OpenRouter (USA) for an automated pre-screening. A person makes every decision; nothing is published automatically.

We keep submissions until they have been reviewed and for up to 12 months afterwards, then delete them. If an app is listed, only information about the app is published, never your email.

Transfers abroad

Our hosting provider Vercel and our database provider Neon are based in the USA but process submissions in Frankfurt, Germany. OpenRouter is based in the USA and processes search and screening text there. Where a country doesn't offer adequate data protection, we transfer data only with the safeguards the FADP requires, such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to its processing, and receive your data in a common format. Write to hello@pebbles.ch. You can also complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch).

Changes

We may update this policy when Pebbles changes. The current version is always on this page, with its date at the top.
